____ Not having found Asa Wilkins or Marzilla Holland living as free blacks or mulattos in the 1860 census, I next wanted to see if there were any slave owners named Wilkins or Holland in Nash county, in the slave schedules, that is, the 1860 slave census, as it is possible that Asa and Marzilla were in bondage before the Civil War, and took on the names of their slave masters.
